Full-Spectrum Doula Care

As full spectrum doulas we extend the doula model of care to people across the reproductive spectrum and pregnancy experiences, to also include conception, abortion, adoption, surrogacy, miscarriage, stillbirth, and the extended postpartum time. We strive to foster a culture that trusts people and their inherent strength to make the best reproductive decisions for themselves. We offer witness, companionship, council, information, resources and referrals, as well as advocacy and support in navigating healthcare systems. In addition, we are both trained in various complementary therapies which we bring to our unique practices.

Nelson area, BC, un-ceeded Sinixt Territory

As a birth keeper and full spectrum doula, I offer myself as witness and council. My intention as a practitioner is to hold a space where we can consensually lean into exploration of the edges and spaces where your process(es) are happening. I also come with various sets of tools and a community of peers and information to share as needed.

I work with folks seeking support with: con[tra]ception methods, pregnancy loss (abortion, miscarriage, stillbirth), birth, placenta honoring, and postpartum health.

Our sessions together are self-directed, rooted in story sharing, and foster awareness of internal resourcefulness and embodied connection.

I offer a flat rate for sessions, which typically run 1.5-2.5 hrs, as well as doula packages.

In Person or Online consultation available.

I am open to traveling [near and far] beyond the Nelson area for birth, contact me directly to discuss this option.

About Me

I bring many years of community organizing, apprenticing with midwives and birth, plant witchery (herbs, homeopathy, and flower essences) and hands-on healing touch such as therapeutic massage and acupressure techniques for pregnancy and birth.

I have a Certificate in Quantum Midwifery from The Matrona in 2013 as well as trained as an Abortion Doula with the Open Umbrella Collective and later participated in an skills training in Holistic Home Abortion Provisions in 2014. In addition, I bring my personal experience and life as a country queer, non-binary cis-woman fat femme, lover and partner to an amazing local food activist, chef and mama, and adult-buddy/family member to a rad baseball+smithery loving kiddo.

:: Elsa Asher ::

Bay Area, California, Ohlone land

As a full-spectrum doula and somatic therapy practitioner, I offer support, preparation, counseling, accompaniment, education and hands-on care for individuals and families across the spectrum of reproductive health.

I incorporate hands-on modalities as applied to reproductive health, including biodynamic craniosacral therapy, acupressure, massage techniques, as well as flower essences, herbs, essential oils, and acute homeopathy.

I do not shy away from anything, and I believe that reproductive health experiences are alchemical processes and rites of passage that deserve support and witness.

My doula services are based in a decolonized approach to health that supports body autonomy and self-directed models of care.
